NSW Solar Tariff

I sent a letter to a few state Liberal party members about their plan to cut the solar feed-in-tariff.

I am joining the chorus of outrage at the plan of your government to slash the solar feed-in-tariff. Whether we like it or not, we are in a period of energy transition. We are transitioning from an age of cheap, easily available oil and high carbon producing energy such as coal. There may be debate about when we will reach peak oil (if we havent already done so) and there may be debate about the best ways to address climate change, but there is no serious debate that these are crucial issues that need our immediate attention.

Thousand of people have installed solar panels on the understanding that the tariff was 60c and now you are planning to dishonour contracts and slash this tariff. This will have a negative impact on the solar energy industry and send the wrong message about the need to move to sustainable energy.

Please add you voice to those in the Liberal government who do not support this betrayal of the NSW public.
