The Power of Outrospection

Outrospection is discovering who we are by stepping outside ourselves and exploring the lives of other people and cultures. This video is an animation of a talk by Roman Krznaric, who introduces the concept and discusses some applications. I am particularly interested in terms of its application to social change and sustainability.

He suggests that our failure to act on climate change is due to our inability to emphathise across space (i.e., with people already being affected by climate change in developing countries) and across time (i.e., with future generations). You can read more about outrospection and climate change here or watch a 6 minute video.
